Fluencify Privacy Policy

Fluencify ("we", "our", or "the app") is an English speaking practice application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and display name when you sign in with Google
• Practice Data: Text transcripts of your speech, AI-generated feedback, and scores

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version (for crash reporting)
• Usage Analytics: App usage patterns, feature interactions (via Firebase Analytics)
• Crash Reports: Technical error logs when the app crashes (via Firebase Crashlytics)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Voice Recordings: Your audio recordings are processed in real-time and never stored on our servers
• Location Data: We do not collect or track your location
• Contacts: We do not access your contacts or address book

2. How We Use Your Information

• Speech Analysis: Your speech is transcribed using AI (OpenAI Whisper) to provide feedback
• Feedback Generation: Transcripts are analyzed by AI (Google Gemini) to generate personalized feedback
• Cloud Sync: Only favorited practice sessions (text feedback only, not audio) are synced to enable access across devices
• App Improvement: Anonymous analytics help us improve the app experience
• Crash Resolution: Crash reports help us fix bugs and improve stability

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Local Storage (On Your Device)

• Voice recordings
• All practice session history
• Cached TTS audio for favorited sessions
• App preferences and settings

3.2 Cloud Storage (Our Servers)

• Account information (email, display name)
• Favorited practice sessions (text only: transcript, feedback, scores)

3.3 Security Measures

• All data transmission uses encrypted connections
• API endpoints are protected with authentication
• Cloud data is stored on secure servers

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In: For account authentication (Google Privacy Policy)
• Google Gemini AI: For generating feedback on your speech (Gemini Terms)
• Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: For app analytics and crash reporting (Firebase Privacy)
• OpenAI Whisper: For speech-to-text transcription (runs on our servers, not OpenAI's)

5. Data Retention

• Local Data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
• Cloud Data: Retained while your account is active; deleted upon account deletion request
• Analytics Data: Retained for up to 14 months per Google's policies

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your data stored in the app
• Delete: Remove any practice session or unfavorite to remove from cloud
• Export: Your local data is accessible on your device
• Account Deletion: Contact us to delete your account and all associated cloud data

7. Children's Privacy

Fluencify is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
